JSSI’s 2023 Summer Interns Recap
Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when it comes to our 2023 summer interns – who contributed to a variety of projects across many departments and brought both energy and creativity to JSSI. Joining us from all over the US, the team hit the ground running in June, specializing in everything from data management, to marketing, client service, and parts procurement.
“Working with my team, I quickly realized how much knowledge there is within JSSI about different aircraft and product lines,” says Julia Hummel, JSSI Parts & Leasing intern.
“It was exciting working with a team that values what you bring to the table,” says intern Addison Heitman, recounting her experience with the marketing team. “I actually had the opportunity to be a leader and work with people across various departments, which was really beneficial for my own growth.”
Unlike the rest of the intern class, who worked from our headquarters in Chicago, Court Herschelman joined the procurement team at one of JSSI’s warehouses in Kentucky. “This summer, we worked on so many different projects and got to interact with so many different people from across the industry; it was just amazing to see the business as a whole,” says Herschelman recounting his hands-on experience.

Volunteering at Navy Pier
Visiting the warehouse team and learning about JSSI’s procurement processes
When asked to describe his internship in one word, Charles Wilson, client services intern chose “priceless”, reflecting on the relationships he has built in the last few months.
