JSSI is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Conklin & de Decker, part of the JSSI Software family of products. Established in 1984, Conklin & de Decker is recognized as the industry standard of aircraft cost and performance data to the business aviation industry and continues to be a leader in aviation research and consulting.
Conklin & de Decker joined the JSSI portfolio of services in 2018 as the two organizations aligned on a vision to increase cost transparency and objective benchmarking tools for aircraft buyers. Through continually enhancing the data, methodology, and cost assumptions, subscribers have immediate access to the most accurate information directly through the Conklin platform – empowering more informed acquisition, ownership, and operating decisions.
“20 years ago – as I entered the industry – I was given a physical copy of Conklin & de Decker to study the makes and models and learn about business aviation. It is exciting to see the continued evolution of Conklin – becoming the modern digital platform it is today, while maintaining the same foundational quality aviation research and thoughtful methodology,” said Francisco Zozaya, Chief Revenue Officer, JSSI. “Today, all JSSI hourly maintenance clients gain complimentary access to the Conklin platform to help inform their next aircraft upgrade or fleet planning analysis, and it continues to be an outstanding tool for the industry.”
The business has come a long way in the last 40 years, launching multiple iterations of its aircraft comparison guide. Since joining JSSI in 2018, the latest digital platform and app took shape – as the years go by ‘Conklin keeps looking younger’. The most recent Aircraft Operating Cost and Performance Guide (AOCPG) enables users to create effective and engaging reports to compare and evaluate fixed and variable FulLife™ aircraft operating costs.
What does FulLife™ really mean? Leveraging decades of expertise and maintenance data across virtually all makes and models of aircraft, the FulLife™ approach accurately estimates and compares operating costs for virtually any jet, turboprop, helicopter, or piston aircraft. The calculation approach includes enhanced estimates for all scheduled, unscheduled, near-term, and eventual aircraft maintenance required over the operational lifecycle. This methodology was introduced in 2019 to provide a more comprehensive maintenance cost estimation that extended beyond the typical 10-year period, and today provides a 20-year outlook for a better apples-to-apples comparison view.
Positive feedback from customers demonstrates the value of the platform, including long-time customer Pinnacle Aviation.
“As a customer of Conklin & de Decker for over 30 years, the transition to the latest online version of Aircraft Operating Cost and Performance Guide has been a monumental improvement,” said Curt Pavlicek, President, Pinnacle Aviation. “The in-depth information and ability to do aircraft comparisons from a budgetary and performance perspective has been instrumental in providing a wealth of information to both existing and prospective clients. The various reports allow for a professional presentation that can be tailored to the specific needs of our clients.”
The most recent software update goes beyond reviewing current cost data and information to adding the following aircraft, now available to all subscribers directly on conklindedecker.jetsupport.com:
