Alon Day has never taken the easy path to a win. Rain, a narrow 1.478-mile road course, and a teammate and competitor who had won every race this season. He crossed the finish line first at Lime Rock Park on Memorial Day Weekend anyway. His fifth career TA2 start and his first win on American soil.
Born in Israel, the first and only professional Israeli NASCAR driver and a four-time NASCAR Euro Series champion, Day has spent his career proving himself on new tracks and in new series. He captured the pole, led the most laps, and held on through a wet and demanding 68-lap race at the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series Trans Am Memorial Day Classic in Lakeville, Connecticut, to reach Victory Lane on May 23, 2026. Day drew on his veteran experience to reclaim the race lead after early pressure, then never looked back. Team SLR, the North Carolina-based squad Alon races for, swept all three podium positions, with Ben Maier finishing second and Connor Mosack in third.
I want to thank JSSI from the bottom of my heart for their incredible support. Beyond my career in Europe, racing in the United States and winning here has always been one of my biggest goals. Thanks to JSSI and Neil Book, who have supported me for the past three years, I have been given the opportunity to compete in a full season, fight for a championship, and now finally win for the first time on American soil. I hope this victory opens the door to even greater success for JSSI and me together. I’m already looking forward to Indianapolis!”
— Alon Day, No. 17 JSSI Chevrolet Camaro, Team SLR
JSSI Chairman and CEO Neil Book, who has attended multiple races throughout the sponsorship, was there in person this past weekend and shared his perspective:
“Alon’s performance at Lime Rock last weekend was a perfect reflection of what JSSI stands for. He went up against the dominant force in the series, raced in tough conditions, and executed flawlessly when it mattered most. That’s exactly how we try to operate day in and day out – composed under pressure and with a relentless desire to earn our wins.”
— Neil Book, JSSI Chairman and CEO
This win marks Alon’s fourth consecutive podium of the 2026 season and extends Team SLR’s win streak to 12 straight races. Three years in, JSSI’s lead sponsorship of Alon isn’t about logo placement. It’s about backing someone who prepares relentlessly, adapts under pressure, and delivers when the race is on the line.
